Going to buy the Acoustic Energy Aego M 2.1

As it has so many great reviews.
However as I'm currently using cheapo speakers with onboard sound, I also want a sound card to go with it. I hear the Asus ones are very good, but there's SO MANY!
What sort of card do I need to go with these speakers? They range from £150 to £20 so I'm a bit at a loss as I've never bought a soundcard before. (Well, before mobos had onboard sound at least!).
