Spare dell r710 server

what to do with it?
duel xenon so it shows 16 cores at 2.5ghz
8gb ram
1.6tb of data.

i have no use for it, any suggestions?

work or home related.
if not il flog it on other wise it goes in the skip

shove Untangle or PFsense on it? If you dont need to use it how much will you flog it for?

no need for pfsense have a barracuda webfilter. and cisco ASA's
not familiar with untangled.
it would be open to offers but i suspect around the £400 mark

Shove some more RAM in it and use it as a virtualization testbed for mucking around with the latest software/tech.

We still use R710's, still ok and haven't reached EOL yet, certified for Esxi 6.0 so might be worth something to someone.

i decided to upgrade my i3 home server with the 710 and set it to power saving mode.
and now it needs to go in the loft because its still to bloody noisy

I have an R410 with dual quad core 2Ghz Xeon, 32GB RAM and 1TB RAID1 and it was a VERY good ESXi server. I'm guessing someone might snap that up if up for sale.

Pistol, which xeon chips? As you have the same machine as me any chance you can comment on my multi cpu thread lower down?
