Hi,
I've managed to get my hands on a spare i5 2400 and thought about using it to replace my aging SM X7SPA-HF which runs my storage server. I'd like at least 3 pci-e slots, 2 for my DVB-S2 cards and a spare x8 (if possible) for any future 10GBe expansion card. The killer though, given its location and generally inaccessible nature of my rack mount gear, is that it needs remote access.
Currently, I use a mix IPMI with Java and a single AMT vPRO; Ideally I'd like to go all out IPMI as then I don't need a client to access the AMT stuff.
I know I can use vPRO motherboards such as the GA-Q77M-D2H (which would work well as a replacement in terms of PCIe slots) but really I'd prefer an IPMI solution.
I know there are the SM X9SCM-F boards, but they do not appear to work with i5s with integrated gpus, are there any others or is an AMT vPRO board my best bet?
Thanks,
Chris
