I am changing the room about and want sexy new speakers to go with my sexy new desk :D

The main use will be listening to music with the odd movie now and again, if for some reason I am not watching it on the TV.

I will be using the on board sound card in my extreme4 gen3 unless my sound card from my old PC would make a difference? I have no idea when it comes to sound :(

So far I have looked at the Edifier R1600T and the Speedlink Gravity Wave 2.1 If I go down the 2.1 route I will need something like the remote the Speedlink gravity has as the sub will be on the floor/on one of the shelves.

At the moment I just have a set of £30 creative 2.1's from about 8 years ago so anything will be an improvement!

Budget will be around £70.

I'd recommend the Edifiers on that budget. You can always add a powered sub later on if you need more bass, but this route will give you much better sound quality overall.

Would I notice any difference using my old sound card compared to he on board from the Extreme4 Gen3?

I am not sure but I presume in the years that old card has been out that there has been much improvement even in on board?

And I picked up a set of Edifer R1600Ts for £55 on the MM so I am happy :D
