Got a 32" LG HD TV. What some speakers for it, not to sure what to get.

No idea on price ect....sugestions?

Got some Logitech Z-2300 THX Certified 2.1 for my PC could just use them and maybe get some Acoustic Energy Aego M 2.1's for my PC or VV? Got some Aego's at home there not to shabby. Have Some 250d's before and they broke so no thanks.

TV will be used for mainly Xbox 360.

Thanks

you'll be wanting a 5.1 *** sys with optical input

that'll give you proper surround sound with you xbox or dvd player

e.g.

logitech 5400

Sorry to hijack to the thread but hopefully it will help the op.

Can anyone recommend an amp and 5.1 system for about £100-200?
I haven't got great ears so a low end setup will probably be very impressive for me.

Thanks

For that budget, look into stereo only. Something like a Rotel amplifier and standmount speakers. You're not going to get even anything half decent for that price.

For a complete 5.1 system and av amp? About £800.

Denon AVR-1907 receiver (RRP £400)
Q Acoustics 1000 speakers (1010 5.1)
35m 79 strand speaker cable (RRP £35)
10 gold plated 4mm plugs (RRP £10)
5m Subwoofer lead (RRP £15)
1.5m phono to phono lead (RRP £10)
1m Digital coaxial lead (RRP £10)
On-screen menu lead (RRP £10)

Hot Deal - £750

But you can still spend more, I would recommend larger main speakers if music is important, especially if it's going in a larger room.

Oh.

Well what price are we talking for something decent?
I disagree with the above comment.

I think something like a Panasonic SCHT340 would suit you well. It's around £150.

Unbearable horrible sound quality from those htib's. Better than the TV's speakers though.

Thats the thing, I have a 32" Samsung R73 which everyone says had really bad sound, but I think it is pretty damn good. THats how bad my hearing is, so a 5.1 system at £150 will prob be impressive to me. As long as I don't go round someones house who has a £800 setup and hear that :p

One more quick Q, what connection do I need to make sure I have so that I can have XBox 360 sound into it? Is it optical? Or stereo, I cant remember!

If you have the advanced output kit then this has an optical connection on and you will get DD5.1 from your games- I am unsure if that Panasonic kit has an optical input actually.

A quick Froogle reveals that Panasonic kit can be had for about £125 delivered.

I would go down to the high street stores and have a listen and a poke around to make sure you like it first though.

The Panasonic kit doesn't have Optical input so probably would not be a worthwhile purchase if you want to hook your Xbox up to it.

My brother has a Samsung R73 too, the sound from that is lousy, basically just treble only, no midrange or bass. Have you heard a decent audio system?

Don't listen to HT in a high street, go to a proper audio store.

No i really don't think I have ever listened to a decent audio setup. I appreciate you can't really get a good idea of 5.1 in a store unless it is setup properly.

I have increased my budget a fair bit now :)
Ill just keep checking around, won't be looking to buy until 1st April anyway so got some time to do some research, cheers for the input guys.
