Hi guys,
I have a budget of around £600..

I am looking for a desktop only that I can use for video editing so it needs to be fairly powerful,
I have a screen, keyboard and mouse already so I don't need those.

Cheers
- Matt

Thanks,
I'l probably have to spend extra money I get having someone put it all together for me. :) Noob I'm afraid! haha

Should I be looking to overclock the CPU yeah? So I might need a cooler for that..

Oh yeah didn't see sorry, :)
Hmm..

Super not sure, obviously I'l get no real warranty by building myself. But the parts themselves will be covered individually.

Nice spec anyway thankyou.

Anyone else got any additions/changes?

you would want to look and an i7 system as renders quicker. If you dont care about that a amd quad core or i5 would do fine.

You should be able to do an i7 with £600

Seems like the 920 is similar to the i5 anyway. Might be cheaper going for the i5, It's pretty close.

That should do ya. Have some others to have a quick read through it, I'm a bit tired :)

Once you take the shipping off it comes in under budget ;)

I don't know how well they OC on stock cooler but I'm sure they can go up a bit. I think intels stock coolers seem to a decent job

Oh.
I use a
Hauppauge HD PVR for capturing the xbox 360 in 720p. Does the graphics card affect that?

You might need to check with somebody that knows about that kind of stuff. I myself have no idea or experience in video capture from an xbox :(
