Spec check for me - buying today

Update

Hi all

Parts arrived yesterday and assembled last night. I am used to building systems so the assembly was straight forward. No real issues except for a bit of fiddling with one of the legs/pins on the stock cpu cooler which came jammed.

2nd issue was with what I can only assume was the gigabyte board. For the life of me I could not get the board to boot from a USB stick. I tried all different bios combos together with USB2 and USB3 ports. In the end I had boot from a CD which at the time I did not have. Is this an issue with the gigabyte Z77X-UD5H board?

Apart from that, very straight forward, huge upgrade from my last system and I simply cannot believe the speed of the crucial SSD - immense, would highly recommend.

Tested some gaming on diablo 3 on max and it blitz'd it.

Next I will update on some BF3 testing and some overclocking of the RAM.

Would be interested to see BF3 feedback - as about to push the button myself, and questioning final GPU choice - have seen benchmarks for 560TI (here http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/549?vs=547) and can see with BF3 many Nvideo cards out do equiv AMD cards (driver issue still ?).
Thx

Had trouble doing this with my mobo, had to go into HDD priority section and set the usb stick to HDD 1, then set the ssd to HDD 1 or it would just keep booting from the usb stick.

In the end i installed from the disc as i didn't trust the usb install.

Nice rig you've got now. :)

BF3 testing

Hi all

Played BF3 over the weekend, settings on almost max. Played for about 3 hours on 64 and 32 player maps.....didn't notice anything negative at all. No slow downs, no jerking, no graphics lag.

In fact I was so impressed I actually forgot all about the testing side and was so immersed in the game play and awesome graphics.

From a first test perspective, extremely happy with my new set up!
