It's been far too long since I've been in this forum, and too long since building a PC!

My brother wants one for ~£200 - just a basic word machine really. Don't need:

Monitor
Keyboard/Mouse
Windows

Do want:

As small as possible
DVD drive
SSD

Quad core for £36!

What would you go for if it were you?
The AMD is £20 cheaper, but presumably for everyday stuff the speed of the dual core might be better?

Might be, but the Kabini has a stronger gfx core,uses less power too, its only 25W TDP.

Thank you - I think I'll stick with the one stulid mentioned with better graphics/bit faster - as I don't pay for shipping its still a bit less than £200!

Got that Cpu and mobo in my HTPC, cracking bit of kit for the money.

The SKhynix SSD is a few £ more, but has better figures, the V300 suffered from a "bait and switch" on the NAND used inside compared to what reviewers had tested.
