Wayne - out of interest, how good would an Ion w/ Atom dual system be for this budget and use? Would there be a notable performance drop between the AMD x3 and this?

EDIT: Assuming web development etc only, no gaming.

Manic, thanks for the advice, I didn't see that case, and I love the aesthetics of it and thermally advanted for £41.99? Bargain to me.

One more question, if i but all the parts separately as the money comes in at a slow rate, do have to pay the £10+ shipping on each item?

Gunna be a Long and slow build but i suppose at the end of it, Imma be in love xD. thanks for the advice guys, you've helped me, a lot.

EDIT:
My final Build Decision.

Are you planning to OC? If not doubt you will need the cooler save yourself £20. The case is good value for money and the specs seem to be good. I

Yeah its Getting OC'd eventually when running like a whisper (hopefully) and I have a decent enough HSF to use on it for now, When i plan to OC i'll order the Cooler :)

EDIT: This is my Current Setup...

Unfortunately yes you will, you will save yourself around £40-£50 if you order it all at the same time.

It's never a good idea to buy parts over a period of time, always save up and buy them in one go.

Out of curiosity how does that X3 Tri Core fair against something like a Q6600?

Cases that come with a cheap, lame unbranded PSU = dead within a month.

I had a friend who wouldnt listen to me when I told him to get a good branded PSU and NOT use one that comes with any case (Antec Sonata series excluded), but he remained stubborn enough and wanted his £30 case + PSU, and wouldnt pay even £45 for a decent brand 400w PSU.

The one he got with his case was DOA. I laughed and mocked the newb. He ended up managing to find a second hand Antec PSU.

Basically, if you want to get a good quality case + PSU bundled together, this is it:

Meh, actually, from reading reviews of that case, it is crappy now. Absolutely non existent cooling - rubbish case, good PSU, dont buy.

Hi Rustyy, That spec is looking good - best of luck getting it all together. As was mention before, buying in parts will make it more expensive as you will end up spending ~£10-15 per individual order on shipping. It is also worth considering that if you get 250 posts and 90 days active on the OCUK forums, you get free shipping on all orders from OCUK shop. So if you stick around and stay active you could have free shipping by the end of the year.

As an alternative to buying separately or just keeping the money in your account and not using it - what you could do is open up an new bank account (or possibly paypal account) and transfer money into that instead. It will mean you can't accidentally spend it and you can see your "PC Build Fund" rise over time.

This set of benchmarks shows how the two compare. Pretty impressed by the X3 tbh.
