Were has the £4000 come from, you went to the bank the other day for a consolidation type loan.

Ive sorted out my finances, sold my car. I pay out £230 a month and thats it. I have £4k left for a car.

Unless you are an enthusiast, I can't explain why someone would buy a 20 yo Escort over something like a Clio 172 for the same money.

Yeh i know what your saying but i will only use the car twice a week and want something fun that i can tinker with like my old minis and escorts. None of them ever let me down because they were standard, rot free and never abused.

Pay off your loans and buy some **** heap for £200, you only want it for 6 months.

You don't want anything thats been abused or is a rot box, yet you are looking into 20 year old Golfs and Fiestas, and currently looking into a 20 year old Escort RS?!

Your saying all golfs, fiestas and escorts that are 15- 25 years old are rot boxes and have been abused?

You sir are a dunce and im sick of you posting in threads just to shoot people down. Your an internet bully that thinks hes a hard man behind his monitor, i'd love to see you out in the pub.

ooo what you going to do? Throw some maxed out credit cards at him?

Seriously, give it a rest with the e-thuggery, Motors has had enough of that today from Blackhawk47.

e-thuggery? lmao, first of all I don't own a credit card so its an irrelevant comment. Secondly I asked for someone to spec me a car not for insults or people posting childish comments because they have nothing better to do...

So if you don't have anything useful to add, please bugger off and post elsewhere you child.

But you said you didnt want a rot box and that wanted something reliable. You then say you want a 20 year old car

you can have a reliable 20 year old car? Why do preople presume once a car is over 10 years old it automatically becomes unreliable? I didnt ask for these sorts of comments, i asked for someone to spec me car.

I had an Escort RS turbo S2 that never broke down. I owned this car for 2 years and it didnt have a single piece of rot on it. I also owned two minis that never broke down, never had an problems with and always got me to work and back.

haha, welcome to gd. err, motors. shep anytime you start a spec me thread, your credit history will be mentioned here. get used to it.

Don't you worry im used to this forum by now and im used to seeing the same few nobs post comments to see if they get a rise from people.

Don't flatter yourself. No one is trying to get a rise from you.

You must surely be able to see why people will question your request for a 20 year old car when you have said you want something reliable..

Why does everyone take advice so personally. If you don't want to hear what other people say, don't ask them.

Forget i asked. [/Close]

He is spot on, in your financial state buying a 20 year old car and running the risk of an unexpected bill isn't sensible.

my financial state? What financial state. I have rectified it my own way and i am now paying out £230 a month. If i had taken the advise from some of you clowns i would have been eating out of the bins!

Seeing that you couldn't get a loan from the bank, what have done exactly?

Sold the car for £8500. Paid the remainder on the finance (£700) and continued with the repayments from the original HSBC loan.

Received a £2k bonus from work and have £1.5k in the bank. When i get paid ill take £300 out of my wage and have just bought, fixed and sold 3 xbox 360s for £180 on eBay
