Spec me a 5.1 system £300

I'm going to take a trip next week hopefully & have a look. If it comes to it I guess unboxing & getting what I can in the boot & the sub in the passenger seat isn't so bad as long as it is all well protected.

Had to do this with the soundware xs and av reciever i bought in store in my s2k, the sub was a dog to fit on the passengers seat on lap of gf for 30 miles!

So I've set it all up a bit adhoc but its all working.

88" maximum screen from a Epsom tw420 Panasonic bluray player with onkyo set up onto a painted dulux grey steel wall, gonna set up my Xbox and pc tomorrow night but now watching American gangster again but so far so good

Need to let the onkyo do its set up thing once all done.

Cheers for your help

How does the onkyo perform then maccapacca? I have been watching this with interest as I need a setup for my parents house and dont want anything to expensive for them and am keen to see how this one is in use.

It's working lovely thanks :), just finished setting up the PC, the Onkyo kit is easy to use and quite understated, playing MW3 is awesome, where I used to gain an advantage through my headphones you now get it through the 5.1.

Bought Forza 4 thinking it'd be great but it was a bit of a let down really, bit dull so I keep on racking up time on MW3.

Dug out a load of old DVDs but the audio seems to have lost a channel, you don't get the main vocals just the background noise and the rears, just the old ones though new ones are fine

On some older DVDs you might have to specifically set the sound output format in the DVD menus?

This happens with Blu-ray too. For example, Batman Begins, for some reason won't auto detect Dolby True HD, instead it'll auto play in normal DD. To fix this you need to select the HD audio from the menu, once the film has loaded.
