Hey guys

Brother is looking for a 5.1 system for his Sky HD and PS3, looking at a budget of roughly 3-500. Give or take a bit if its worth it.

Any advice you's can pass on?

Muchos Thanks.

This would interest me to. Looking forward to seeing some replies.

All the stuff I've looked at seem to come with a DVD or Bluray player to drive it all and I don't really want that.

How about the Denon 1610 av receiver (£280-£290) + Jamo A102 HCS5 (£249.99) or the Tannoy SFX5.1 (£200). You'll then need to buy some speaker cable + a sub cable if your sub doesn't come with one.

Hope that helps

:).

I've just set the amp up that I suggested to you and I love it. It's a fab peice of kit. I was reccomended to get the Denon as I was told the sound would better than the £240 onkyo / sony amps I was looking at. In the end I'm very happy with my decision.
Go post up on the AV forums you'll get a lot of help on there. If you do decide to get the above amp check out this website:http://batpigworld.com/index.html. I really didn't have a clue on how to set the damn thing up until i read that site.

Sony DDWG800 I have the same set, around £300. Will do HD Audio off his PS3 as well which if he is planning to watch blu-rays is a decent improvement (not worth spending loads extra on though). The amp is actually a standalone as is the sub, so speakers can be replaced if he decides he wants something more aesthetically pleasing.
