Hi folks.

I'm looking for a bridge camera. Been bitten by the bug again, but cant really justify a full SLR while saving/paying for a wedding. Ideally looking to spend somewhere between £150 and £250.

Any recommendations?

Cheers

Stu

If you want a superzoom (20x optical) bidge then have a look at the Canon SX10 IS, it came first in a test of the six leading superzoom bridges in a test by Digital Photo magazine earlier this year.

Panasonic FZ series, the FZ28 would be a good camera but is a tad out of budget, so I'd recommend looking 2nd hand (they've not been out for long, the good ones on Evilbay should hit £200ish at most)

If you want something a little different, the Casio EX-FH20. It has a couple of high speed video modes 224x168@420fps & 224x56@1000fps.

cheers fellas.

taken a look at the ones mentioned along with a couple of fujis. Think I'm gonna plump for the panny fz38. Looks like a cracking bit of kit and have found a pretty good deal that's just on overall budget. Shame I'm going to have to wait a few days to get hold of it tho :(

Be sure to get a decent screen protector, boy am I glad I fitted one on my Lumix. 5 years old son managed to get his hands on the camera and then dropped it. Protector saved the screen. This is the one that fits the FZ28 (FZ38?) made by GGS 2.7". 0.5mm coated glass with a backing film, listed under A200.

I may be a little late but I'd recommend the SX10 to anyone wanting a good bridge. I get these kind of shots from it, and have been asked multiple times by people which SLR it is.
