Spec me a car - £10,000 to spend

I'm fairly sure an RX-7 constitutes boy racer ^^.

:D :p

If you have a mate with a Z4 who needs putting firmly in his place, how about one of these (surprised not been mentioned yet)...

50k, one owner, FBMWSH. Comfy, a bit practical and serious fun.

Awesome car, but 23 years old on that I'm looking at around 2.2k minimum for insurance (just done quote on that reg).

I would love one of these - http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classif.../page/1/postcode/sm39rx/radius/1500?logcode=p - The fuel cost however would be mad. I can get insured on that for around £1000.

Oh right - ouch. What's a 350Z setting you back on insurance? Surprised there's so much in it.

350Z, is £1031, 1 series 130I also the same.

It's all to do with profiling, M3s are associated with youngsters wanting speed (especially earlier models), so going to be priced accordingly for the target audience.

Don't think you get many trouble makers driving a 350Z or 1 series, generally seen as professional cars? The 1 series especially is a great car for families, at least the lower litre versions, so not high risk.

i would go for a 350z or s2000 out of everything metioned. personally i wouldnt bother with a r32 when your looking for the fun weekend cars. dont get me wrong an r32 would be a hoot but not as much as a rwd brute :D

Swirl central paintwork right there. :o :(

I think everyone seems to agree on a 350Z not being a bad choice... so I think I'll settle on that!

Need to take one for a test drive though.

If anyone has/does own one, I'd love to hear about the running costs/ fuel and any issues you've come across.

I used to own one.

Managed a nice average of 22MPG combined. That is doing around 15 miles a day.

Suspension can wear, especially on early models, brakes can be expensive but not if you shop correctly. Get on 350z-UK and speak to a guy called "zmanalex" as he does excellent pricing on OEM brembo parts.

Get an earlier car if you want to avoid the increased VED. Search my posts for 350z as I have spouted so much about them I cba to type it all again :p
