Am I the only one who thinks that the OP who wanted an Escort RS Turbo a few hours ago, specified a sub 8s to 60 car yet who now wants a £4000 650 mile 'show' Mini to rack up some miles on is perhaps just taking the michael?

It's a bit of a turn around to make in a few hours isn't it? Old turbo monster Escort to a 900cc Mini.

Okay...

Edit: you get twoblacklines to advertise that fiesta or something?????

90 MPH in 4th in a classic mini at 4,000 rpm. Pull the other one mate.

No I didn't, its not even my advert. I posted it as its a similar car to mine that's for sale..

I'm not replying to you any more, you don't deserve any more of my time.

Where is the exact point that you mini is shown to to 90mph at 4k rpm, i am really interested by this as it seems that you have a really long 4th gear if that is the case :)

Long gear ratios ***! ;)

It's in show us your motors and motors YouTube videos if your interested. :)

Edit it's all stock/factory fitted apart from exhaust. Which I got replaced. :p

Leon Cupra/Toledo?

If you don't care about the nasty 16" wheels, seat cloth or icky bumpers, the early Leon Cupras are a bargain.
1.8T or V5 Toledos are fantastic VFM too.

Or Saab 9-5 Aero :o

your a flipping idiot!!!!

I said ive been looking at Escort, Fiesta RS Turbos, minis, mk2 Golf Gtis - FOX immediatley brought his flame thrower to the dinner table (as per usual) and incinerated me by saying that cars over 20 years old such as minis, escorts, Mk 2 Golf Gti's will be rot boxes, thrashed and unreliable.

READ!!!!! HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO SAY IT!!!!

Sigma, you've been ignored too much. Great suggestions lol

I know. :( I genuinely went out of my way to ensure that they could all be bought within the budget too!

Well they are all getting on a bit now, aren't they? Most cars tend to rust, been there done that with my last car which was 21 years old! Don't talk to me about reliability either, I owned it for 6 years and got so annoyed with it that it sat in the garage for 4 of those years.

He wasn't actually having a dig in that instance, you just completely threw your toys out of the pram. Looks like this thread is heading that way too.

But you are just constantly contradicating your own criteria

In my opinion, a safe bet is a nice 2.0l Focus. A more fun (but more expensive/risky choice) is an 02/03 Civic Type R.

For a start you said you want a fairly quick car, which you described as being sub 8 seconds to 60. Then in the same post said you'd been looking at 998cc mini. Last time I checked, a mini didn't do 60 in under 8 seconds.

That's ignoring the fact that you're flitting between cars that are worlds apart - Escort RS Turbo one minute, Mini the next.

I'm at a loss frankly as to why your last thread was closed but this one has been left open, I don't think you've any intention of buying a car, nor do I think you are genuinely seeking advice.
