We got the Tassimo - makes excellent coffee (and tea) :cool:

ive got a tassimo and have to say its only so-so. It makes good tea/coffee, better then instant, but ive had much better coffee elsewhere. Plus since it uses small pods of coffee instead of ground beans manualy added to the machine, youre forced to pay their prices, which could be more exensive the buying your own beans (havnt checked prices, but chances are it is more expensive), and you have less choice of what type of coffee you have.

I recomend going for one where you can just buy some roasted coffee beans, and grind them yourself to the consistency you like, and then just add them to machine.

sorry to thread jack, ive been looking for a coffie maker for a while too so would be good to see anyones reply's

budget up2 abut £200 aswell, would prefer a milk frother too lol

I've heard good things about Gaggia machines, although I don't know about specific models. I saw the Gaggia Baby in Costco the other day for around £200 though, maybe slightly under, so that would be within your budget.

1 X Kettle
1 X Pot of Nescafe

and about 5 minutes of your time.

Cost = About £1.75.

BARGAIN !

i just got to a place in my life where i would like to appreciate some of the smaller finer things in life and thus stop drinking instant coffee. any more ideas out there pls?

If you just wanted filtered coffee then the best thing I found is an 'old fashioned' percolator.
It doesn't do espresso or cappucino though.
I then use a coffee grinder I got from Whittards which cost about £15.

You've probably found this already but, an old thead with some better replies, Siliconslave's posts especially - Spec me a coffee maker.

Emphasis on importance of what you put into it rather than just getting an expensive machine and then only using some random vacuum packed stuff from supermarket. Stuff like grinding (and roasting) your own beans (fresh) using a decent grinder (burr?), people often having spent as much on a grinder than on a coffee maker.

Only an occasional coffee drinker myself but semi tempted by something cheapish like an aerobie which is meant to be good for the money (25quid :D).
