Spec me a family car £10k - £14k

I was looking at a Focus but my attention's been drawn to a Mondeo Titanium X, is there any reason not to go for an Eco-boost Powershift model?

Other than the fact that you'll have a "Ford Mondeo Titanium X Eco-Boost Powershift" (which is both the longest and ****est car name ever, no. They are pretty decent cars :)

well, i need a fmaily car, so good with MPG. It also needs to have lowish running costs, servicing, tyres, repair bills, hence why i am leaning towards Ford.

How many miles do you do per year?

Servicing a BME 320d is really not that bad, repair bills should be minimal with a car of this age and you can take out a warranty for 40 pounds per month.

at 12 k per year,
A 2.0 TDCI Mondeo is supposed to do 53 MPG so will cost £1384.03 in fuel.
A BMW 330i (Petrol) is supposed to do 39 MPG so will cost £1846.41 in fuel.

Its not really that different when you consider the Ford will probably devalue faster then the BMW.

It only costs about 300 pounds to service the BMW, I think the ford is about 200 but you would know better then me.

A BMW 320d should have about the same fuel consumption as a 2.0TDCI
