About the same what? Price to buy? No. Price to service? No. Price to fit tyres to? No. Infact the onyl thing thats 'about the same' is the 'engine capacity'.

sorry I was referring to fuel consumption, on paper the 2.0TDCI is about the same as a 320d.

very nice, but after deisel. Didn't realise those were petrol.

cost to do 12k in a 2.0 TDI PD 140 = £1410.15
cost to do 12k in a 1.8 TSI = £1800.25

So its going to take a long time to make back the extra few K the Deisel will cost to buy int he first place.

or even Toyota Avensis (no idea of models in their range)
