Not really sure where to put this but here goes...

I'm going to V Festival for the first time this year and so need a tent.

Any recommendations?

I've had a look at these (like their ease of use and price), but not really sure.

Any thoughts?

Cheers

Gelert are a good cheap summer tent i have the 1 man lightweight one for when im camping on the moors in the summer.
Their relativly easy to setup, the standerd 2 poles and 2 skins, with groundshhet pre attached.
only problem is ventelation, i normally wake up soaking wet in mine from condensation, also their a pain in the arse to get to fit comfy in a back pack ( i seperate mine up and store it around my bergan)
so if u want a cheap summer tent then their good but with more money u get better waterproofing and quality (and often complexity)
so you should write down what conditions youll come up against then work out the tents that suit that condition.
hope if been of some help?? but i doubt it

I liked the Gelert because it pop's up - so it wouldnt take long to set up.

V Festival is the end of August, so you would expect it to be dry and sunny, but you never know in England!

Cheers for the help though.

Hah hah. I guess I misunderstood the thread title. This is a Festival Tent to me:

to be honest the best advice is simply to get the cheapest, if its anything like Leeds festival then you'll either have your tent burned/crushed or you will be too knackered to take it home anyway. I manage to always find good 3 man tents for <£16.

Bah made it through oxegen last year in that 2 man pop up tent....

Was cold and it leaked every time it rained. Get the 3 man one just so your not touching the sides at night and getting silly damp. Take the instructions for it as they are a mission to get back into the back (i went and got food whilst the woman sorted it out) :D

Get one with a porch bit.....so much better.

You can keep anything you don't wat to sleep next to in there and it's great for keeping your camping chair in for easy access.

Those Gelert Quickpitch a quite good, I have one and they are quick to assemble etc but:
1. They dont fold up very small and so are quite annoying to carry.
2. If it rains you might get a bit wet since its a single skin.
3. I have a 3 man one and its a pretty good size. Deff wouldnt reccoment the 1 man!
4. Make sure you know how to pack it up before you get to the festival (should you want to bother taking it home :p)
