Spec me a good 2 player game?? (any genre PS3)

I'd agree there. It's a rather unremarkable game on your own (and the partner AI is terribly stupid), but with a friend it's far more enjoyable.

Can't believe I'm going to say this, but Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 is proving quite good too; aforementioned mate and I are currently tackling terrorist hunt on hardest difficulty, maximum number of tangos and us armed only with Desert Eagles and grenades. Very amusing.
 
How about co op shoot em ups? There was this fantastic ps1 game (can't recall the name but I reckon it's in the garage somewhere) where it was just pure fun in 2 player mode! 3)
 
The best co-op shoot em up I can think of on Ps3 right now is Soldner X and Soldner X 2 (both are excellent). They combine old school 2d shoot em up action with modern graphics and music. Sheer class and definitely the best 2d shoot em up Ive played on this generation of machines.

And I know its not co-op but me and a freind play the likes of Mortal Kombat 2 and Tekken 6 a lot when he comes over as we're both old school gamers and enjoy these sorts of games. If you and your friend are like minded I suggest giving these types of games a try.
 
can you get army of two on ps3, if you can, i would recommend that. hardly the best shooter but really fun in co-op.
It is specifically designed for a co-op camaign

most fun by a mile would be the left 4 dead games though
