Spec me a good pizza recipie :)

One of the best homemade ones I ever made was knock up the base using which ever recipe you fancy, then make up some chilli con carne pre bake your base slightly smother it in chilli con carne and cheese then cook till done. Yum

Sounds delicious :eek:

How much do you think it costs to make the cheese and basil pizza?
I'm going to guess that as a student I'll have to only buy the stuff for a special occasion!

You could grow your own basil. I grew a couple of plants and ended up with loads. A single plant would grow enough for at least 1 pizza a week.

For the sauce, get some JD BBQ stuff with some slow roasted sunblushed tomatoes and a little tomatoe puree, cruched garlic and a wee squeeze of honey. Blitz it so that it's not completely smooth. Lashings of cheese and buy a tin of meatballs in tomato sauce and halve over one side of the pizza with that , green pepper and sweetcorn and cover the other side with mixed meats and chilli peppers. Drizzle mustard mixed with tomato puree over the whole pizza with some dried herbs and chilli flakes. Crack open a beer and Bobs your uncle :D

Don't forget to drizzle the pizza with a wee splash of olive oil too. Chilli oils is lush :O

What do you use for your tomato base HeadlessChicken?

While it is rising, make the tomato base. I actually used some I had made previously and frozen, so no pics. But it's dead simple:

* Lightly fry a clove of garlic in olive oil. Don't let it brown.
* Add a tin of chopped tomatoes and a few sprigs of chopped sage
* Let simmer for 10 mins
* Blend with hand blender till smooth. Season with salt & pepper. Done

:)

I have bought the ingredients and will be copying your recipe, although I have bread from a packet because I am a retard when it comes to cooking.

I have been making pizzas for ages now but I use LOADS of already grated mozzarella (lazy) but one thing I noticed with Pizza Hut a year ago is that getting double cheese on your pizza actually makes it somehow not as nice, I will be trying your method of less toppings and proper mozzarella balls.

sweetcorn, pepperoni, jalapeno peppers diced thinly and mozzarella cheese, mmmmmmmmmm.

if your feeling really adventurous fry up some minced beef, get some Morrisons bbq marinade powder, put the mince in a bowel and add half the pack of marinade mix in and top the base, mushrooms sliced and added, bell peppers diced, green and red and Monterrey jack cheese and you have a tasty pizza!!!!

Man i eat too much crap!

Less is more when it comes to cheese - it shouldn't be a big stretchy slimy mess. Cut Mozzarella into cubes/slices and use sparingly.

My favourite toping is to mix cooked chicken breast, peppers and thinly sliced red onion. Add a nice amount of pepper, ginger and chilli powder and mix well.

The tomato sauce can be made with something quite simple such as

* 1 Tin chopped Tomatoes
* 3-4 small red onions finely chopped
* A few cloves garlic
* Mixed herbs
* Tomato Puree

Simmer for a while until reduced to a suitable consistency.
