spec me a good umbrella

I've been getting wet for years now as i can't find a suitable umbrella, maybe you guys can help.

I'm looking for something small enough to carry around so no massive golf style umbrellas, but something that is strong enough for any weather might have in the uk. Maybe made from titanium, scandium or carbon.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

The £15 m&s umbrellas are just no good and the £1 ones from savers are as expected terrible.

I prefer the totes range, and recently purchased this one after drunkenly leaving my faithful old automatic in a restaurant:

Bear in mind that that one is mainly an emergency brolly - good for fitting in the pocket just in case. Plenty of slightly larger but more sturdy ones on offer. Good site for ordering too - very quick.

You must be doing something wrong. Are you sure you've been using it the right way up?

For normal use I use one of the small Totes ones.
