Hi
I'm considering ditching my Z-5300's and possibly my X-Fi card too. I hardly use my PC for gaming nowadays and I really feel the "gaming" set-up isn't appropriate any more, plus my efforts to redecorate and pimp my room are being thwarted by my rear wired satellites. I really don't see much of an advantage with surround sound.
The main sort of stuff I'll be using the setup for is music/movies/360 gaming. Would a 2.0 hi-fi/amp set-up give me a better experience than my Z-5300's? I'm looking to spend around £300-ish (although I can go more if required). The sort of products I'm looking at is something like a Cambridge Audio A5 amp with some KEF Cresta 10's or Wharfdale 9.1's. Ideally I'd prefer bookshelf speakers because I have a pretty wide table (160cm) and floor mounted would therefore be quite a distance away - is this an issue?
Any advice/guidance regarding PC/360 hi-fi set-ups would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
