Spec me a hotel in London

Something a little different - but I can reccommend K-west hotel/spa. Has all the nice spa stuff if you think your Mrs would appreciate some pampering if you've got time in your schedule. Hey I like hot tubs and massages too, and I'm totally alpha :). 4 star and has a good range of room sizes/spec to suit your desires and budget, all with spa access thrown in, if i recall, but of course treatments etc would be extra. We both loved it. It's also right next to that new Westfield shopping mall - again your Mrs might appreciate that too.

Courthouse DoubleTree by Hilton
19 - 21 Great Marlborough Street

Got a free night there back in Nov/Dec. Lovely hotel and a fantastic location, highly recommended.

I just booked the Hoxton for a crash pad Thursday night after beers with the boys. It's not as good as some of the other ones I posted, but we are drinking eating in Hoxton so it's convenient.

edwardian radisson hotel london

Last year I stayed at the Radisson Edwardian Hotel, it's 4 star I believe, and it was very nice indeed.

Stayed there too, got a suite for £150 which was exceptional value as it would happily have carried a £400 per price tag. It is very 'business' though and I think boutique is better for taking the Mrs.

The Soho Hotel just off Wardour St is very nice. Might stretch the budget a touch though.

I've stayed there twice now and it also has apartments which are often full of TV and movie types. Timothy Spall and some Hollywood actress who's name I forget were drinking in the bar when I was there last. Very cool bar area, expensive but liked the honesty bar they had and the cinema is cool too.

Apparently the best hotel in london (Trip Advisor) and I used to work opposite it, looks very swish (but I have never stayed there).

I did just search Queens theatre and it appears to be in the far North East of London , not even in london proper? Is that right?

EDIT: Ahhh... Google map fail... It only shows one Queens theatre in London, in Hornchurch. :roll eyes:. It is in fact where I expected it to be (west end!).

A great hotel, stayed there with my wife a couple of years back. She turned up as I was working down there and because she had a stinking cold she got the full sympathy vote, got an upgrade and they even sent up hot lemon tea and a face bath thingy with complements of the manager, nice touch. The room was vast, L shaped and corner of the building with quite the best bathroom I've had in a hotel and I've had some nice ones!

For something simple but nice I would also suggest http://www.gordonramsay.com/yorkandalbany/

More a restaurant with rooms and the rooms are small but it has a lovely feel to it, not least come Sunday morning breakfast when you can laze back and read the papers in the lounge/bar area. Angela Hartnett was chef on duty when I was there and David Millaband was on the next table....so we left :D
