So I've basically been doing all my PC gaming over a Steam link recently....which is generally fine, but has a few drawbacks (mainly that the other half can't use the PC for her work while I'm gaming).

I'm considering building an ITX machine for the living room...keep costs as low as possible to begin with.

Requirements:

As small as possible
A decent upgrade path
Full-size GPU, or at least Zotac Mini sized
A plain, black case, no RGB or other nonsense.

I'd probably go for AMD for the upgrade path.

I'd steal the 512GB NVMe SSD, and 2x8GB sticks of DDR4 out of my desktop.

What am I looking at costs wise?

That's not actually a bad price for the 1070 version considering GPU prices.

How does the 7300HQ hold up though?

Edit, Ryzen 5 1400 looks the better option.
