Im looking to upgrade to a c2d system.

Now Im not really looking to overclock, just want a nice stable board.

SLI would be nice.

Now Id like something quite a bit under £100.

So what do you reccomend???

If you want sli that cheap you will have to go with the 650 chipset boards unless the new 680LT is close enough in price and available.

Out of the 650 boards you have an option of boards from Asus, Abit & MSI at the moment.

Im happy with my Asus P5N-e :)

Am thinking of:

Abit Fatal1ty FP-IN9 SLi nForce 650 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
Core 2 DUO Support, 1333MHz FSB, 4x SATA, 8x USB2.0, 7.1 HD Audio, Silent, Gigabit LAN, SLI Support.

Now ocuk say 2x8 sli slots and abit say 2x16-can anyone confirm which it is at all???

2x 16 slots, but as far as I know when in SLi mode you will get x8 mode for both cards, on the more expensive boards you get x16 from both in SLi. I know the Asus Striker is full x16 for both and probably the Evga and BFG ones.

If its a proper 650i board you will only get 2x8 pci-e in SLi. As thats all the chipset will give you.

Now if you get a hybrid board like the Asus P5N32-E SLI you will get 2x16 lanes.

What Abit means is probably that they are physically 16 lanes.
