Hi all,

My 24" DGM monitor died yesterday morning when I switched it on. Makes a slight squealing noise and there are lots of lines on the screen.

So I'm in the market for a new one.

I'm looking for the best I can get for around £200-300. Ideally I would like a 27" monitor. I game a lot and I also use the monitor for 3D/2D work so would need it to be nice and responsive with no ghosting etc. Also I prefer 16:10 resolutions. Every little helps ;) Would 2560x1440 affect my gaming performance much?

I use DVI connections. Is HDMI better or worse than DVI? I can use either so some feedback on that could be nice!

Also, I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card soon. Are there new nVidia/ATi cards coming out soon? (I know it's the wrong section, but if anyone is replying and knows the answer let us know ;))

Thanks guys! :)

DVI and HDMI are electrically the same so give the same picture quality. HDMI can carry audio.

I wouldn't worry about gaming performance at 2560x1440. £200-£300 won't buy you a new monitor with that resolution.

The new higher end ATI/Nvidia cards aren't likely to be out until 2012.
