Its a very marmite color, I loved it, in person its very striking, but very difficult to get in a photo.

I think this one shows it up best:

Looks better and plenty of yellow ones for sale so I'd probably go yellow but if GT3's keep dropping I am sorry for 20k more GT3 all day, even though the GT4 is bloody sensational, you cannot get passed the motor in the GT3, so much more power and screaming 9000rpm, plus though I think GT4 looks incredible, the GT3 edges it. :)

I think that is gorgeous. But...listening to your head is sometimes a good idea.

Yes,

I came out the car absolutely buzzing ready to buy, but a few hours later and its very much, well actually its not going to suit my daily use.

So forcing myself to walk away has saved me from a potentially very costly mistake.

Have you driven a GT3 PDK for any decent period of time? It sounds like the PDK would suit your needs much better.

Shame as the GT4 is meant to be one hell of a car. Hopefully I’ll get to drive one one day.

It was absolutely hammering it down and I could feel the capabilities of the car, in the dry it must be an absolute riot.

I can tell you they are super planted, GT4, Cayman and 911 GTS RWD are super planted, to the point they don't need AWD as they are so well setup, the confidence they inspire behind the wheel is unreal, of course some are not fond of this as it also means they are hard to provoke to get them moving around.

I really need more seat time in a GT3 as on track it was awesome but was possible to unstick the rear even in dry, as the 4.0l in the GT3 packs quite a punch and throttle is razor sharp.

Now you understand what all the fuss is about. GTR is epic, fast, peerless all weather monster, but once you have had a GT Porsche very little if anything comes close to the feel you get from them. Razor sharp, fantastic engines, superb gearboxes and all the feels you want from a car to bring it to life. Until you have driven one, you have no idea and most see it as 'just a 911' or 'just a Cayman'. Ha, all fool them, ignorance is bliss.

Honestly im quite smitten with it, looking into if the clutch can be sensibly softened off to nake it more daily friendly

Give it a week and you won't notice it. Everyone talks of the GT3 clutches, I cannot remember thinking it was heavy but then I came from 100K miles in 2 M3's with manual boxes.

You should try a 911, specifically a 991.1 s or gts. Can daily it easily both tech and driving dynamics with the PDK. Really don’t drive the same as a cayman.

An S is well within budget and you’d get your pick of spec, colour etc. GTS is about 80k up, but worth it.

GT3 is next level! But your going to need deeper pockets

Other shout is 991.2 maybe even a T. Given it’s a turbo certainly more easily modded. Don’t sound anything like as good as the 991.1 though.

OP I have found your new car.

Audi R8 GT V10 Spyder. Like yourself I am not keen on the normal soft top R8 but the GT looks so much better. I don't know if it is the spoiler or what but it just looks perfect in my eyes.

As a car it is more track focused then the normal R8. I would however swap out the R8 GT bucket seats with something a bit more comfortable. As they are rock hard with no adjust ability - the stock seats just make 10x worse in terms of comfort. A set of old RS4 style seats are far better day to day.

Suzuka grey one below if you prefer that colour:

And it sits nicely within budget, and depreciate less than a normal R8.

Lot of G's come on the market since this thread, some of them ridiculously in budget and well looked after. I would want a manual and spyder ideally (who wouldnt want to listen to that engine), unfortunately in my budget its either or.

Ferrari F430, yes its old, yes its slow by comparison, but to drive its bloody amazing and I've always said no to another black car, but black works so well on these, as does red or course, ONLY buy from Ferrari dealer!

Or guarantee yourself some appreciation with a manual version:

Would want a spyder again, https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201812173325927

Re-looking at these 2 options now, dayum.

The F430 is awesome it totally owns the Lambo as a drivers car, noise ain’t far off either and that F1 box they really perfected but by modern day standards it is poor but once your used to it.

Ferrari though only buy it from a Ferrari main dealer or only if it comes with main dealer warranty as trust me though they are generally very reliable the bills are huge, also avoid ceramic brakes as cars of this age will be due a replacement and that will no doubt cost 20k, so steels all the way.

Remember with a Ferrari mileage is everything so expect 1k depreciation for every additional 1k miles you put on it.

Trust me F430 is like a dream car I love them and for me I think they are sexiest of all Ferrari’s and I really like them in dark colours, even black.

However Rosso red, Cream interior, shields and manual is dream spec or F1 box second.

But I’d only buy with a Ferrari warranty, servicing after some research at a Specialist which I believe Ferrari do allow is very reasonable almost cheap with a major at £1500 and a minor around £700, expect main deal to be double or triple. Warranty expect 5k per year and even Ferrari warranty won’t cover known failure items like front dampers and a few Ferrari owners have found warranties like warranty wise to be better as it will cover damper failure.

Of course drivetrain failure could be a big issue for a 3rd party warranty as that would be a huge bill but that said I know of no failures and I’ve researched the F430 a lot.

My only fear of the F430 is performance coming from something as quick as a GTR or SVR it will feel lacking, however 500HP in a 1350kg mid engines super car will never fail to entertain.

Just go in eyes wide open, certainly for me as a GT3 and 570S is causing me to many ifs and buts but my only concerns over something like a 458 is how much of a knob I’ll look driving a Ferrari because let’s admit it that’s what most the general public think of Ferrari’s whereas a 570S is a crowd please been British and a 911 just gets seems as a beetle.

Hence why a Ferrari best in silver, grey or black. Get a red or yellow one and might as well have a bullseye targeted on you. :D

yes don't get a ferrari it's an idiot's car...........Lambo is similar too, not sure exactly why because i've always thought this....... it's very irritating to see on the road, there's something about the car that rubs you up the wrong way and they're all the same, so it's probably just in the name only.

Ive never really been a fan of Lambo or wanted one, but the Performante has changed that. I was sitting in a cab this week in traffic and next to it was a Performante. Such a good looking car with that epic engine and finally, seemingly, a Lamborghini that drives as well as it looks.

Yes let’s all listen to some random on the internet and don’t buy something because it might offend someone else.

For the record...I don’t get irritated I love seeing them used on the road. Though I still don’t why people drive them in central London, that is pointless I must say.
