currently got a old xerox with a max res of 1440x900 17 inch
i want a new monitor that will let me play my ps3 games at 1080p and be good for pc gaming aswell. But i don't want anything too big

If it's £250 or less that would be good but maybe could stretch to £300 if it's seriously worth it as it will be a long term investment i just want a solid quality screen thats gonna last me well. HDMI input is a must as is DVI or VGA

sorry for being so specific but i know nothing about monitors for pc gaming

If you dont mind going to £300 look at the Samsung T240

thx thifles altho is there anything a little smaller say 20-22 as a 24 inch at 2 feet (where i sit in front of my desk) is quite a lot
i thought earlier today no point upgrading the system in the new year if i've got a cruddy monitor to play stuff on

Thats where I sit and so long as I dont lean forward for too long its fine
Also you said 1080p, and for gaming 16:10 is better than 16:9 which means 1920x1200 which requires 24"

yeah i tend to lean forward a lot it almost seems automatic lol
just measured 24 inch screen don't seem to bad i've got a 50 inch plasma in the front room with VGA but looking at a pc screen on there is too much of a task.

that samsung does seem to have a lot of features for the price
