I'm a total novice when it comes to PC specs but looking to get a new PC for photo editing primarily using Lightroom and Photoshop, together with usual Internet browsing. I'm not a gamer.

The budget is £1000ish excluding monitor and usual peripherals. I know when I purchased my existing PC it was all about RAM. Is this still the case now ? Also do I go AMD or Intel or doesn't it matter ?

Ideally would like some ability to upgrade if required in the future

Any advice much appreciated

12700K/Z690 DDR4/32GB of fast DD4 RAM 64GB if you really want more, 2TB NVMe storage.

Get a case of your preference, and a decent PSU, job done.

Don't bother with a GPU use what you have now or the iGPU in the 12700K

As above, I'd do the same with a 12700k rig, 64GB RAM etc. Gone for a 1TB NVMe for now. Not sure on your storage requirements? Whether you already have a NAS/server or large HDDs, or if they're also needed you can add in extra HDDs if required?

The case is your own personal preference, so just put the P400A in as it's a decent and well reviewed case.

Ryzen 5700G
Artic cooler 32 co
2x16 of sub 10ns RAM single Rank b-die
Gigabyte Aero G or Vision G motherboard
2Tb crucial P5 or WD SN550

That would be ideal for the job.
