Spec me a posh/sporty/comfy car for £5000

Miles dont matter, just buy the best condition and make sure the history is full and proper, not from Fred Blogs garage.

Dont discount the 2.5 either they go well too, the 2.1 are a bit pants though and you dont get 4 wheel drive on those.

Cheers. A lot seem to have Jaguar FSH!

PS. I'm 21 and insurance is £1k for the 3.0 X-Type SE. Not too bad, £400 for my Dturbo at the moment though! lol

Good man for getting into the Jag fold so young!!

Dont bother to pay a premium for a sport either, the SE handles good and rides better.

It's hardly a warm hatch

It is a hot hatch...

:D The more I look at them, the more I want to go out and buy one now! Not good...must stave off the impulse buy! 22 next month, I don't think that will affect insurance much (if at all) but need to get viewing and reading up first!

To be fair people used to say 'this is posh!' when they got into my Mondeo because it had leather seats.

I quietly lol'd.

Reminds me of my old man, back in the day, he had an '85 Granada 2.8i Ghia with cloth seats.

he changed it in '88 for a 2.9i Scorpio, essentially the same car but with leather seats.

Everybody thought it posh.

Same thing happened when he swapped his '91 530i for his '94 530i - the later car was effectively the same, but with leather seats & everybody thought it was so much posher!

Must be something they put in the leather........... :D

I'm sure I've said before about this one girl who, when I gave her a lift in my Dads then-new 530d, asked why I'd downgraded my car, simply because it had cloth seats.

Facepalm.

Even though it'd very cheap, I'd still want leather and auto aircon.
Does that even have cruise control?

For that car with those miles at that money, if its as good as it looks, it would be an excellent buy, with or without cruise and climate.

If the OP is up for a sporty saloon, those things are not must haves in my opinion. Full leather would have been nice though.

Remember that car is 3.5k after a little bid, 3.5k **** me how much value is that.

This is true. But I'd personally spend more on another one.
Not as good value as the Mondeo which iirc its based on.....
But a Mondeo isn't posh ;)
