Spec me a Projector

Afternoon,

After a cheapish nothing crazy fancy short throw projector for the bedroom. (would like to keep it under £300 if possible?)

It'll be a distance of around 2.5meters (what size projection should I expect?).

A couple HDMI's in would be nice.

Other then that I know virtually nought about them, so any insight or tips would be appreciated.

Amazon would be great too, as have a couple vouchers kicking about.

Personally Id buy from richer sounds as they often include six year warranty or if not its ten percent of cost. Try avforums.com think they have a calculator for image size with various models of pj, my optoma hd50 is about 3 metres away and i get a 106" image not on full zoom.


Just looked on rs and the optoma h183x is £299 has a throw ratio of 1.55-1.73:1 so would throw a screen size of 1.61 to 1.44

Ive just bought a X152h which are on offer on the rainforest for around your budget. Not opened it yet will be setting up tonight. Seems a good deal for that price.
