if yes... can you say which will be better...?

Thank you

a lot of people seem to have had problems with hiper psus, although i have known a few people who have had them trouble free. Usually i would recommend a corsair psu , although lately i have read that a few have blown. The 625W Enermax MODU82+ and Zalman ZM600-HP Heatpipe Cooled 600W Modular PSUs both get very good reviews and may be woth a look.

hi, thank you for reply,
but i guess it is too much ... as more Watts more money for bills?
i would like maximum 550W ...

any suggestions?

If the psu is 600 watts, it doesnt mean it will draw 600, it will only draw what the system needs.

For example, my E6600, 4gb ram , 8800gt, 250gb hard drive only draws 110 idle, 150-160 load.

I can also recommend the 600W zalman, great PSU for the money, plus it's modular. Like above, the computer will only draw what it'll need, you can have a 1000W PSU and a 600W and the computer will draw the same amount of power from both.

I would go for Corsair TX 650W, excellent psu and its 80% energy efficient and like greywolf said it will not use the 650w, it will use a lot less depending on idle/load.. It only draws what the system needs..

Have a run through that and see what wattage it says at the end. You might find 500W is as little shy if you're overclocking.

There is no point replacing your PSU if it's doing the job though.

Even from the OcUK Hiper Active Club only 1 PSU has taken any parts with it when it's blown, so it's extremely unlikely that both your PSU goes, and it takes parts with it.

I'd stick with it. OcUK would have stopped selling them if they were dodgy.

Over the years OcUK have sold various cheap PSUs, but they just don't bother any more. There's got to be a reason behind that.

My rig is of a similar spec to yours and higher clocked and draws 340w at the wall. Providing you will not be going down the dual card route at some point have a look at the excellent Enermax Modu 82+ 525w or the 625w version. OCUK do'nt sell them but they are widely available for £73 and £83 respectively. They are super efficient and deliver up to 90% efficiency at 50% load.
