Spec me a screen or screens

I'm planning on building a new rig for some flight sim x and dirt 2 and am toying with the idea of going for a dual monitor setup instead of 1 big screen.

I will be buying a ATI 5850 GFX card. Would it cope fine with 2 x 24" screens?

If going for one screen I'd probably go for the 27" Ilyama. Any opinions?

I have dual monitor and I use Radeon ATI HD4850 (1Gb) and posed no problem whatsoever.

I'm sure the graphics card that you chose would have absolutely no problem with what you wish for.

I love FSX, but would find more time to learn more.... I do have FSX with Acceleration Pack, too.

Just reviving this thread slightly. I have basket ready to order but still undecided on screens. Mostly I will be playing Dirt2 and FSX. Don't know whether to go for 2 x 24 or the one big 27" screen at £300. Might do some video editing also so the 2 screens could be good for it.

Any advice/suggestions?

Any reason why you want two? I would have thought it would be pretty annoying having the bezel going right down the middle and chopping your car/plane/fps crosshair in two.

Wouldn't it be better with 3 screens for eyefinity?

I'm toying with the same idea as you, I'm slightly leaning towards the Iiyama though, waiting to see a few more reviews first, but supposedly it's meant to be pretty smart.

I would use 2 to start with then maybe get a third once I get more room to put it and also more money! A friend just got the 24" Iiyama with HDMI and it is beautiful screen. I think 2x screens be better for the flight sim.
