Spec me a server please!!!

Hi All,

A rare thread from me for a spec on a server.

Long story short, we had a customer who bought a 1TB NAS from us, knackered it, and now wants us to supply a server for them.

Main priorities;

Low cost
File storage (ideally 1TB), raid if possible
Daily use
Backup
Windows software

I've looked at a Dell T100 and now looking at ML115.

Any comments will be welcome

The ML is a pretty good little box, you can pick up a couple of 1Tb drives and put a RAID array in it for data storage, I'd run VM Ware ESXi on it and then virtualise something like an Openfiler or FreeNAS for your storage.

yeah I would go with somthing like a ML115.

I'm confused, why would you use ESXi with only one host.

Oh, and it's for a small business of around about 10 users.
