See the cover of the goodfellas, ray liotta, rob de niro, joe pesci.

The collar of Joe Pesci's shirt almost closes over the tie, very pointy.

Or spec me a shop where I can get a good gangsta suit. You know, black suit, black shirt, white/creamy tie.

Better yet, spec me a full 3 piece suit that looks awesome, and where I can get it, or the component parts.

I need it for friday, since I'm attending a fairly informal wedding, quite low key, but still needs to be smart, and re useable for other occassions.

Cheers!

Nice typo :D. there might be a ship in the Bermuda triangle somewhere, which sales what you want.

Damn your edit, know I look the fool :(

What about this

Where do you live, go to a shirtmakers, preferably one in Jermyn Street in London.

The collar you speak of is a formal extended cut, very pointy and more formal than the now more populat 'cutaway' collars. English shirts have taken a trend toward the cutaway collar whereas Americans seem to have stuck with the traditional cut.

You'll probably have to get a shirt made for you if you want it right. I heartily recommend Curtis & Dyer. They will cut the collar just like you want it and you can do it all online. Check it out here - http://www.curtisanddyer.co.uk/index.php

I see you want an 'awesome' suit ASAP. To be honest you'll not get anything 'awesome' off the rack, you ideally want one cut to your shape. However, fear not, there are plenty of good compromises. What style of suit do you want? Do you prefer the more traditional and conservate English style or are you more into the flamboyant Italian style?

Go to your local tailor and see what they have in their off-the-shelf range. Stay well away from Next, River Island and other such high street chains which sell complete crap.

Finally,

A BLACK SHIRT WITH A WHITE TIE IS A COMPLETE MONSTROSITY AND AN INSULT TO THOSE OF US WITH GOOD TASTE. DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT.

I haven't had much sleep + it's really late :D

Early start tomorrow....today....at 7ish, but lie in on monday.

Anyway, shine, fill all the criteria of my post please, don't just post a random image.

What about if I get a white suit coat, with a yellow waistcoat, and cyan shirt, with dark purple trousers + dark blue shoes?

Ho ho ho.

Believe me. Real people, winners, people with taste and success will laugh at you if you sport a cheap black shirt and white tie. You will look like every other 19 year old admin assistant at the stationary company's Christmas 'do' in Slough.

If you want to dress well, at least put a bit of effort into it. Dressing well takes effort, imagination, confidence and charisma. Going to Next and picking up the box set of two black shirts and a white tie does not constitute dressing well.

I need a half-decent suit for friday, after that I'll be in Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, thus have the best looking suit available for future occassions :D

Is lunch also for wimps?

So do you get your shirts and suits made for you and walk around thinking you've arrived?

You sound like NE sometimes.

I couldn't care less about "dressing well" I'd rather buy a cheap suit and tie, as usually my jobs "in suits" involve manual labour too.

Can't see the point of spending several hundred pounds on single set of clothing, just for work.

Even if the money was rolling in I wouldn't bother.

I was under the impression that men didn't need to think to dress... and if you did it suggested..... hmmmm..... homosexual undertones? (:D)

Where did I say that a lot of money was required? I didn't. It's a common misconception that it requires a fortune to dress well. It doesn't.
