So I'm looking to add a projector to my lounge. Now the reasons I'm adding one are slightly different from the usual. I don't wish to project a huge image across the wall I just want something the size and quality of a decent tv (ie. 1080p minimum) with the advantage of it disappearing when I'm not using it.

I plan to project on a white painted wall, which I'm considering buying paint for the purpose of projecting onto... not sure if this is a thing?

The space I wish to project into is a gap between my speakers of roughly 40" horizontally which you can see here:

So I''m thinking maybe a 60" ish projection?

It will mostly be used for Movies/TV, casual gaming and maybe some CAD / Final cut if I find that workflow suits me when it arrives.

So to the point I'm wondering if anyone can suggest a projector fit for this purpose? I'm kinda of lost with the range of projectors out there. Ideally I don't want to spend more than £500-1000.

One last thing, I have the option of mounting from the ceiling or on the back wall roughly 3500mm away.

I have a IPS computer monitor at the desk in the room so for anything that needs to be accurately reproduced. The projector is more of a thing for when guests are over and i'm watching movies or gaming with others. Therefore seems its wont be used that ofter and I really hate having large black rectangle in the centre point of a room I think having a projector is just a much more elegant solution.
