It's my girlfriends birthday on the 27th, I get paid around the ~14th, so I will be looking to buy her a nice new telly to replace her ageing Daewoo CRT
I have a maximum budget of £250 - give or take a few quid (not a few £tens
) but ~£200 would be nice.
It's got to be branded - able to get repaired with no fuss, 3 year warranty prefered but I can live with a 2 year. A 1 year warranty would really have to have something to make up for the fact it's not guaranteed for long. As a matter of fact, no, it needs a bare minimum of a 2 year warranty...
Oh, and it has to look nice too. So preferably black as I think that's the most stylish looking colour for technology at the moment!
I've been looking at these ones, but I'm open to other suggestions and I'm in no rush to get it. I know nothing about TVs and neither does she, but it does need to be nice to watch from a non-tv-nut perspective! My biggest worries are viewing angle and colour accuracy (not overly bright reds etc)!
Samsung SM932MW
- Looks nice - cheap, too. I like the fact it's a monitor as she can play stuff on her PC easily this way. I have read the speakers are bad... I don't want to have to buy separate speakers.
LG 19LS4D
- Again, looks nice - more like a TV than a monitor. My main worry is its specs on a certain site say "HDTV ready: No"... eh?
Samsung LE19R86BD
- This one looks best.
I haven't checked the warranties on these yet, but being branded I presume they are ~3 years.
What do you think? Suggestions?
edit; also the Samsung SyncMaster SM225MW
