Spec me a WOK

decent pots and pans are not a waste of money. It all depends what you are going to use it for. A conventional wok does not have metal handles or a lid for oven cooking and so limits it uses.
Of course good pots and pans aren't a waste of money. £60 on a wok is.

If you need to use a lid, use a frying, braising or stewing pan and not a wok.

Or buy a tefal wok with a lid and use it for all three roles saving you money and saving on cupboard space. The man asked for advice on a wok not about joining the BNP there's no need to get so animated.

O woking hell.

Burning mine now and the coating isn't coming off. Time to break out the nukes.

Edit: The flat part at *** bottom is seasoned nicely but the sides of the wok still have the coating, o well.

we had two fab steel woks that we bought from our local Chinese supermarket.
both were pretty cheap and had lasted for years.

sadly both were round bottoms and no good for our new induction hob.

we ended up getting a large flat bottom style one from Ikea but it doesn't perform as well - it was extremely cheap.

I did see a small Tefal one the other day in John Lewis - jamie oliver branded and about 30 quids but I am looking for it online cheaper.

It was only a small leap but let me explain, if someone comes onto the forum and asks for advice on joining the BNP I'd expect people to get wound up. If someone asks for advice on buying a wok I wouldn't. Clear enough?
I don't see where anyone has gotten wound up.

You've made a rather incorrect assumption, and an incredibly stupid "leap". Perhaps its you that needs to calm down.
