Trying to get together a mATX pc together for my sister as it stopped working and she started to throw it about :S. Anyways, anyone have ideas for a 500-600 quid mATX machine? Preferably an i5 system and able to overclock a decent amount.

Are both of these capable to overclock to around 3.6?

She plays or wants to play games but her old computer couldn't hack any game at all lol so some half decent graphics will be needed too. She doesn't need mouse, keyboard, monitor as she will be using the old ones.

Cheers.

This would be the basis, comes to 550 but no case, there arent many good quality cases in mATX size at £50, none I can think of any way, you may have to either use a midi case or stretch budget. Also only gone for retail cpu, no aftermarket cooler as depending on case you may want low profile, which again I'm not 100% sure of availability due to new socket

Intel Core i5 750 2.66Ghz (Lynnfield) (Socket LGA1156) - Retail + Colin McRae Dirt 2 Full Game £149.98 (£130.42)
Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card + Colin McRae Dirt 2 Full Game £119.98 (£104.33)
Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2 Intel P55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 Motherboard £82.98 (£72.16)
G.Skill Ripjaw 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (F3-12800CL8D-4GBRM) £82.00 (£71.30)
Be Quiet! Straight Power E7 400W Power Supply £52.99 (£46.08)
Western Digital Caviar Black 500GB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (WD5001AALS) £42.99 (£37.38)
Sony Optiarc AD-7240S 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £18.99 (£16.51)
Total: £549.91

They all peform similar mate, Check a few reviews out and see what sort of speeds they are getting with it ;)

ahh you're right! I was gonna spend the extra on the higher end mATX mobos... Think i'll just go with the UD2 :).
