I have two MP3 players, a very nice SanDisk Sansa View which I use for music day to day and also an old 1GB thing from 2002 which uses an AAA battery and is really quite small and light.

I use the old 1GB player just for running and have covered well over 1000 miles come rain or shine with it in my shorts pocket. It’s been a rock... until now. There is some corrosion around the headphone socket and recently it’s started cutting out randomly.

So I need a new MP3 player for running. The important aspects are small, light weight, easy to use with cold fingers, some degree of water resistance, tough and it shouldn’t be much more than around £30. Only needs to be 1 GB really.

Any suggestions? ...seems like the 2GB Sansa Clip can be had for under £30, anyone used one?

Yea i have a sansa clip 2gb solid little player sounds as good as my ipod classic not sure about water resistance though oh the the earphones that come with it are absolutely dire earbud things.

Ditto on the sansa clip.. Mine has been soaked in the rain in my pocket and worked fine. Havent tried totally submerged (and dont plan to!). Get some decent earphones and your away.

:)

No doubt about it, go for the sansa clip. I've just bought a clip+ and the only thing that lets it down is the battery life, which for me is around 12 hours.

Go for the Sansa Clip+ over the Sansa Clip, they're a similar price, and even the original is very god. The original Sansa has a small bug with audio playback which you may not notice, but has been fixed on the Clip+, so your music should sound a little more correct (I dont want to say too much incase it ruins it for anyone!)
It was originally to be fixed on the clip but the fix never seems to have made it to firmware before Sansa shuffled staff.

Im tempted to buy a Clip+/Fuze myself for the fix, and added memory card slot, especially as they're so relatively cheap in comparison to a lot of the other good players.

Oh and directory browsing in the Clip+, another thing I missed on the original.

That said, even the original clip has good sound quality, and has a pretty solid line power output compared to similar costing players!
