We're getting through a lot of batteries just lately so I've been thinking about going down the rechargeable route.

We mostly use AAA and AA so not too bothered about other sizes.

I've done a bit of research and there's a lot out there and so many different opinions etc.

So what are people using? What should I avoid? Just after some basic rechargeables mostly for low drain devices around the home.

I've just been using Amazon Basic AA and AAA rechargeables (they do a low self-discharge version) - seem OK so far.

I always bought Eneloops for my expensive equipment, but for the kids toys etc I cant fault LIDL's own rechargeable batteries I always grab an extra pack when they come around. And at £2.99 for 4 they're a bargain, if you Google there's plenty of comparisons been done just ignore the bad batch results that seemed to be floating around the middle of last year.

I'm thinking of replacing my main charger so don't really have a recommendation. I've also got a couple of cheapy ones that came free with other brand battery packs and some olight single battery USB chargers that I use for travelling which are pretty handy.

The Amazon basics ones are Eneloops I believe.

Read the same on a couple of review sites so think ill go with them. Just don't know which charger to pair them up with.

The Amazon basics range are Eneloops but may be one or two generations behind the most current Eneloop own branded ones. If you can get a decent deal on them then go for it, otherwise just get the latest Eneloops.

For a charger, lots of options but definitely look for those that have individual charging rails, i.e. You don't have to load them in pairs or sets since each rail is independently monitored so you can also mix and match types. I charge AAA, AA, C and D in any slot at a time. All good chargers will support this.

IKEA rechargeable batteries are also eneloops as far as I'm aware.

Perfect, thank you. I'll take a look at all 3 options and see what works out best price wise etc.

The LADDA AA 2450mAh and AAA 900mAh ones? Yup. Same spec as the Eneloop Pros. Same factory iirc. Very impressed with them myself.

Also the STORHÖGEN charger is very good. Just keep the batteries in it and it'll maintain them.

We use a mixture of Eneloops, Energizer and Amazon Basics, all seem to perform well with no issues so far. We have also had the Vapextech smart charger for the last couple of years with no problems, it lets you charge AAA and AA's at the same time which is handy. The other great thing about it is, unlike some models you don't have to charge in pairs.
