Spec me - cheap station car

I bought an 06 1.6 Astra SXI for a grand, its done 98k and is horribly underpowered, a whole 105bhp, but I do less than 8 miles a day sooo..

I'd say just buy something cheap with a years ticket on it and go from there..

Went for a mazda3 in the end. 48k miles and 06 plate so fairly old, but aside from a bit of blistering on the alloys, looks more like 6 years old than 16. 1.6l engine is juuust about not completely underpowered, been a week and pleased so far.
