I watched I Saw The Devil tonight based on some comments in this thread. I was disappointed. It is more so a crime/psychological thriller than a horror. It also wasn't that grusome or violent, I really was expecting something truly horrible. Way to hype it up :p

Wow, polar opposite opinion buddy. Its an awesome movie with a truely nasty premise.

Started watching 'It Follows' last night which I enjoyed a lot, though I was too tired to see it all the way through. Will watch the rest this evening.

Good suggestion, whoever mentioned it. :)

Irreversible (2002) isn't close to being a horror, no idea why people keep suggesting it as one because of one or two scenes in the movie.

it isn't pretty, but more of an intense crime/drama than a horror movie..

I prefer the spooky stuff rather than a gore-fest.

To start off with a couple of films that did not take my fancy :p

Kill-List (one of the few I turned off half way through)
Funny Games (Another, I wanted to rage ;) )

The most effective horror films for me are the ones with a decent story and not just gore/cliche's:

The Exorcist
The Omen (the original)
The Grudge
Sleep Tight (Spanish Horror)
Let Me In (US remake of Let The Right One In)
Dead Zone
Witchfinder General (Hammer Horror flick)
