1) tbh I thought itd be higher than that, knew itd be under 500W but thought itd be a lot closer

Thanks for all the input guys. Going to be getting the new system ASAP as im trying to play the new COD on this box and its just not good enough.

I wouldn't be looking at upgrading again anytime soon apart from throwing an SSD in, so the 6850 isn't essential for me. In fact I'd prefer the 460 definately.

Is the jump between I3/AMD Equivlent and I5 big performance wise? I really need to make a decision ASAP.

Can someone point out the weaknesses of this system please? If i wanted to put a 460 in it, would I have to replace the PSU?

EDIT: Would a 460 even fit on this mobo?
Is this good value for £291?

thats ok for £291.

the psu is powerful enough, it only comes with one 6pin power connector, the GTX460 needs two, luckily there will be a molex to pci-e adaptor supplied with the card.

the case is the only worry? is it flimsy metal? how good is the cooling?

I've no idea about the case really, but if you look on sc*n (am i allowed to say this?) there's a photo. I've heard using power adapters can be troublesome, should I just get a new psu with it and sell the other one?
 
Ok, Scrap that. Im looking at a phenom build again, like the one listed above except the CPU is out of stock, and the only same price alternative is a little slower. Any way to save a little cash on that build? If not, I guess ill just have to grin and bear it. Trying to play black ops has really shown me how much i need a new setup!

to be honest there is only a 100mhz difference between a 965 and a 970cpu.

as they have unlocked multipliers, a quick adjustment in the motherboard bios will add +200mhz easily.

also the fact that the 965be cpu is a 125w version means slightly cheaper motherboards can be used too.

Back again, with more questions :( :( sorry. In the anandtech benchmarks, the I3 im looking at vs the phenom II x4, the Phenom barely wins, and becacause I'll be buying an OCUK bundle (probably), the overclock on the i3 is much higher, does this mean it would outperform the phenom as it doesn't clock as well?
