Thanks for all the replies guys.

From what you guys say there could be something a miss with my car, engine is standard & standard VF35 turbo just a panel filter and a remap, it made just over 300. The mapper at the time said he expected maybe 10-15 more but said it all sounded healthy. It boosts to about 1.4-1.45 bar on my prosport gauges, holds it pretty well and starts to tail off slightly up at the top of the rev range, probably get full boost around the 3000rpm mark. When your at say 5000rpm and you floor it there's probably a 1/2-1 second ish delay on the boost kicking in.

If i were to change it seems most peole say Elise and M3 so looks like i've not missed out anything obvious, i'd probably best find some to test drive. But I do love the idea of an LS powered RX7/8! Only thing i can think with an M3 is being rather heavy it will munch through tyres and brakes the same as the scoob does which is where the Elise should be better if being tracked?

Also are most things DIYable on an E46 M3? The elise looks a bit more of a pain to work on by the nature of the engine being where it is, how easy is the clam shell to come off as i'd imagine that'd make any maintenance easier?

Hi m8

On M3 tyres, a set of rears typically last 8000 road miles, if you fit something like SuperSports then you'll get over 15,000 miles from the rears maybe more.

Brakes be same as the Scoob I imagine, though the pads are quite cheap on the M3 as they are not huge, certainly no more expensive. PF or Pagid pads are best for the M3 for track usage.

Most things on the M3 are easily accessed, oil is easy to do, suspension/brakes seem easy to work on. The only specialist DIY you can't do is the valve clearances which need adjusting every 20,000 miles ideally, essentially an Inspection 2 service which cost ranges between £550 - £1200 depending on who does it, shopping around is critical.

Your in North Wales, if you ever want to meet up, go out in the M3, give me a shout, but mine is far from standard, someone stole all the interior and it makes a big difference to the noise it makes and the way it goes.
