Van Wilder: Party Liason is pretty funny albeit almost completely devoid of anything requiring intellectual thought, for the love of all that is holy though don't bother with Van Wilder 2: The Rise of Taj - it has no real redeeming features and is basically the same storyline redone but worse.
Dragnet is great as is The Blues Brothers - both star Dan Akroyd which also brings us neatly to Ghostbusters. If you haven't seen any of them do not hesitate, get yourself to your nearest purveyor of recorded images and get them post-haste.
I don't think any of them (may be Caddyshack) are in the same genre and league of Airplane, Hot Shots...etc
The Big Lebowski is full of dark humour, not slapstick. It's not that its not a good film, totally opposite of that in fact, i love it. But it's a totally different kind of movie, same with Dazed and Confused (a bunch of High School kids drinking and Smoking?)
