Spec me some headphones ( Angry Razor Hp-1 story inside, some advice now needed )

Well on the 2nd of August i bought a nice new shiny set of razor hp-1's from my local pc store... And besides the fact they sound great, The build quality is absolutly ****.

Last week the elastic inside the headband thing snapped ( the bit highlighted in the pic below ) Meaning it wouldnt hold onto my head when i put them on.. So it slipped off.

Anyway, i took them back asking about a swap or about getting a rma sorted. They said it wasnt a "technical issue" so they couldnt do anything about it. As the speakers in them still worked fine. Then they told me contact Razor myself to see if i can sort anything out.. So i got home, and noticed 2 little screws on the headband. So i took the out and opened it up. I found the snapped elastic and fed it though the headband and tied it to the other side.. The headphones where now abit tighter, but still fit ok..

But now, about 1/2 an hour ago this happened...

The left speakers brackets have snapped and it has come completly off the main headband

Im proper annoyed with them now, so am i in my right to go back to the shop and ask for my money back ? Or will they make them RMA them...

Anyway.. Spec me a new set of headpones please :D

TAKE THEM BACK TO THE SHOP!!!!

You have a right to be able to take them back within a certain time-frame and seeing as they are only about 3 weeks old the shop WILL take them back. If they refuse just ask to speak to the manager and he'll give you what you want, they always do :D
Just stress the fact that they aint cheap headphones and that you came to their shop for 'service' (or some crap along those lines) Failing that see the work experience / weekend part-timer and bully them into swapping :D:D

I bought some Sennheiser HD595's last month to replace my 12 year old HD455's and i've hardly had them off while i'm at my desk. Ultra comfortable, relatively light for long periods of usage and the sound quality is superb, well worth the cost especially if they last as long as my old ones.

I have the HP-1s, and just ordered a set of 595s as was annoying with the barracuda's.

Build quality is supposed to be superb, but if open headphones arent for you (where other people can hear you), then some audio technica a900s should be ok. Head over to headfi for the lists.

Well i took them back today, after the guy looked at them, he said he would RMA them. I shall have a new set on tuesday he said.

"Customer Induced Damage"

Thats what the guy at the shop said.. So he wouldnt RMA them, or give me a refund.

After a long and heated arguement with the manager, i took my headphones and left. He said the only thing i can do is contact Razor myself.. But he said they say the same thing

Advice anyone ? Ive spoke to 1 guy who said i should get in contact with trading standards.

not much yuo can do unless others are complaining of the same issue with build quality, try trading standards but i can see their blank faces just now and say, contact razer or the shop purchased from.

did they just 'snap' with no force whatsoever? or did u sit on em or something?

I took them off my head ( With 1 hand on each headphone ), and the left headphone just snapped out of its socket

Anyway i will get in contact with this razerguy chap. Thanks

sadly as soon as you did that the warruntee vanished. you are now into the reals of good will
it is very hard to prove a thing was defective if you have altered it...

Sennheiser HD-555's, cant go far wrong with them, AWESOME sound and good price :D
Have a read in the Home Cinema & HiFi forum, lots of discussions on headphones.
