I havn't budgeted enough for tyres and im broke and need them for MOT any suggestions for a decent cheap tyre? 205 45 17 btw. Could go to 215 or 195 if it saves enough money.

Mytyres have good EAGLE F1 GS-D3 195/45 R17 for £61.80 which seems ok if a little thin i suppose considering I have 225's on my car now.

Falken Ziex ZE 512
215/45 ZR17 87W with rim protection are a bit cheaper at £60.00 and they are wider.

I've heard the falkens are pretty good, anyone have them? Hankook seem a bit too expensive, closer to £70 on mytyres that is anyway.

If you have 225s surely you can't put 195s on? Unless they're stretched like you'd see on a retro golf gti or something :/

Nope they arn't stretched. I want thinner tyres for the winter anyway but I was just thinking they might be too thin. Tempted to just go for the falkens.

Can't decide what width to go for!

I've just had my 3rd set of Michelin Sport Contact II's fitted at £65 / corner.
I have them in 205 55 16, and I can't fault them.
