Spec me sunglasses!

The pair Lee linked looked ok, not what I'd buy but not a hundred miles away. The pair Ahleckz linked aren't my taste at all, they make me think Elvis Costello (even though they don't look especially like his specs), the pair Accendo linked are too flimsy looking and not the type I'm after.

I'm pretty much open to anything, and I'll head to the Sunglasses Hut first of all, and I'll go see if anything catches my eye elsewhere.

In all honesty I don't really care too much if I spend £100 on them when £20 would do. I'm going to have them for years, and when I divide the cost down that way it's not a big issue if it means I get the sunglasses I really want. I've had pairs from boots and other places before and I've never felt like I had a pair of sunglasses I liked.

You do pay for name when paying more for sunglasses, but some are a lot better made than your average cheaper ones. I have in recent years moved from metal frames to plastic frames as they don't bend as much I find. My personal choice are Ray Ban Wayfarers but they are more for fashion than sports.

Yep, lots of the Oakley ones when I filter down to wrap. A few other brands, but not really so much.

Obviously I'm going to see how they look on me, but these are broadly what I'm looking for I think. They may not be my favourite - I'm not going to to go through dozens of pages looking at them all.

Looks like the next step is to go to the shop and see how bad/good their prices are and see if I can find the right ones for me.

I like these:

Oakley Whisker. I have a pair. They're nice :)

Oakley is more than design / stlye, the customer service is very good. I've got two pairs of Whiskers and my regular glasses are Oakleys as well.

My sunglasses came from the Eyewear Outlet. They currently have Whiskers for £75. Some of the modesl are EOL (End Of Life) and one on my pairs of Whiskers were meant to be seconds (not that I could find the slightest mark on them).

A bit of googling says that I want polarised too.

So I want polarised Fuel Cells - or at least I think I do until I try em on and they look bad :)

They can be got for £100 online...

Haven't read whole thread..

But if you just need cheap sunglasses that are decent enough, get yourself down to lidl and see if they have crivit sports sunglasses in atm

Pretty decent, get a case, 3 set of lenses all for £8

Ps. Got these myself cos i only like full wrap round ones, they do scratch but i dont take care of them tbh cos they were only £8

I cannot make any genuine recommendations on that budget.

If it's something you will use daily (I use mine daily) then quality is hugely important, a £20 pair of glasses is a £20 pair of glasses.

Buy something decent, with proper glass lenses, with proper filters backed up by a proper warranty. My current pair are expensive (Maui Jims) but after 4+ years of CONSTANT usage do not have a single mark on them, frame or lenses.

It was Aviators, then Wayfarers, next it will be Caravan (mark my words :p)
Bad name, but love the design!

Caravans are awesome. Just bought a pair with the interchangeable lenses. I love the damn things
